"Salvation is not a human achievement, but a divine gift. From start to finish, God orchestrates our redemption. It is purely the work of God without any human input for that reason it is described as the grace or gift of God. The recipient simply receives it by faith.
When we say 'repent,' we're not asking people to wallow in regret or sorrow. Repentance is simply turning to believe in Jesus. Being sorrowful, crying or confession of sins add up to nothing. If God likes that way, why did he give us Jesus and declared that man can only be saved through faith in him?
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
Others thinks repentance means changing your ways. This have made many to think that one need to forsake all their ways and come to Christ, which is humanly impossible. In addition to that, that teaching is not the gospel but just a moral instruction that cannot save anybody. Thats man trying to save themselves, salvation that is based on works.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Repentance is not about earning forgiveness; it's about receiving it through faith. God is pleased and forgives us when we confess Jesus Christ. He obtained true forgiveness and eternal redemption for us.
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9
Jesus' death granted us forgiveness, unconstrained by human standards. Now the believer is righteous in Christ. Some say one must confess their sins for God to forgive them. That is not true. Sin has no power over the new creature in Christ. The believer must confess Christ, the sin destroyer.
"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." - Hebrews 8:12
God doesn't require our perfection; He offers His. Christ has met the demands of purity on your behalf. Therefore, the believer is righteous. The believer has received the righteousness of Christ. Today we have many in the body of Christ, who, out of ignorance teach that if a believer makes a mistake is going to hell. That is not true. That kind of teaching produces fear and we know that fear and faith don't go together. God did not give us the spirit of fear. 2 Timothy1:7.
"We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." - Hebrews 10:10
1. Have you received God's gift of salvation?
2. Are you believing in Jesus for forgiveness?
3. Are you living in freedom from condemnation?
"Lord, thank You for orchestrating my salvation. Help me believe and receive Your forgiveness. Fill me with Your righteousness."
How has God's salvation transformed your life?
